Frequently asked questions

Short factual answers about Parametrica benches: who makes them, what they are, where they are used and what they cost.

Who manufactures Parametrica benches and where?
Parametrica (Parametrica LLP, Kazakhstan, BIN 170640008981) designs and produces its benches in its own workshop in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The designs are authored by Satikov Design, the studio of founder Ruslan Satikov. Benches are made to order and shipped worldwide.
What is a parametric bench?
A parametric bench is generated from a digital model in which the form is controlled by parameters — curve, length, height, number and spacing of sections. Parametrica's benches start from a single curve that an algorithm slices into a sequence of profiles; each profile is CNC-cut and the profiles are assembled on a steel frame. Changing the parameters changes the form, which is how a model can be adapted to a specific site.
Which types of spaces are the benches designed for?
Shopping malls (the largest group — 28 of 77 projects), entrance lobbies and offices, hotels and spas, schools and universities, exhibitions, airports, public squares, restaurants and private villas.
What are green islands?
Green islands are parametric benches built around an integrated planter, used as resting zones in mall atriums and public interiors (for example GL2.11 at ADK River and Merey Mall, Gi-5.1 at Europark Maribor, Gi-6.3 at Blandonnet). Plants can be live, artificial or stabilised at the client's choice; planting is quoted separately and is not included in the bench price.
How many models are there and what do they cost?
The catalogue has 68 models in three collections — Contour (50), Slicing (10) and Radial (8). List prices range from $232 to $20,897 in interior execution (USD, ex-works Almaty). Live prices in USD, EUR, CHF, KZT and RUB are on parametrica.biz/benches/.
